3 Football Players Suspended For Obscene Gesture In Photo

Three Nebraska high school football players were suspended for one game after making "obscene" gestures in a photo that appeared in a local Omaha newspaper. I read the headline and thought so what? the kids flipped the bird, but as you read the article you start getting the idea that it's not the middle finger they are talking about...curiosity got the better of me and I had to read on.

Apparently a father of one of the boys resigned as president of the team booster club out of anger with the way the school handled the situation.

"[The father] contended that the hand gesture the boys made is not obscene and has been commonly displayed by athletes in other sports at the school, as well as by widely known college athletes. The gesture had become so accepted at the school, [the father] said, that a varsity head coach at Carroll High used a picture of a player showing the gesture as a screen saver on his school computer."

Its not until you get almost a third of the way though the article that they reveal the "gesture" in question is none other than the SHOCKER! Hahahah. How can anyone argue that's not an obscene gesture?!? It's more obscene than the middle finger by far, and a coach used it as as screen saver? LMAO.

Let's hope that label, THESHOCKER, doesn't get too much use.

My defense would have been "what's a shocker? I was giving the East Coast hand sign. Peace out!"
